ABOUT


Fernando focuses his practice on assisting clients in international tax planning and related international matters. He advises U.S. individuals and companies with operations abroad as well as foreign individuals and companies with operations in the U.S. Fernando’s practice has a particular emphasis with Mexico and U.S./Mexican tax matters and includes advising on U.S. tax compliance and information reporting requirements and assisting high-net-worth foreign individuals in creating pre-immigration tax plans and planning for their investments.

 

Fernando specializes in tax planning and business interests, so his clients can focus on their entrepreneurial, creative and philanthropic projects. He delivers services to his clients, from consultation on a single endeavor to comprehensive involvement with all aspects of the transaction.

 

Prior to becoming a member at ICS, Fernando began his career at Coopers & Lybrand LLP (San Diego, CA) servicing cross-border international clients. He later worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (New York, NY) in their Transaction Services (M&A) and Technical Structuring Group; servicing U.S. and non-U.S. clients and structuring their transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations and International Accounting Standards. He later formed Sempra Energy's financial reporting and technical research group; providing accounting services and tax accounting support to the operations in the U.S. and abroad.
